In a unique step, and cooperation with the Syndicate of Private Educational Schools in the Outskirts, represented by its Chairman Mr. Rabih Bazzi, and after choosing Lycee Hanaway School to implement the training program at high levels in south Lebanon, the head of the school, Mr. Kassem Kafal, held a reception for the Director of the English Imperial UK, Dr. Govind Desai, and Dr. Batoul Salman, General Manager for MENA Region, to launch the British TESOL project to train teachers and hone their educational skills. This project will be followed by the launch of the Summer Camp program for high-level training for students, according to unprecedented modern training specifications
The ceremony was held on the stage of the Kindergarten department at Lycee Hanaway School and was attended by a group of principals of schools and deans of universities in the region, the school principal, Mr. Mohammed Kafal, the head of the parents’ committee, and his deputy, Dr. Najeeb Fadlallah and Mr. Ali Yasine, some committee’s members, heads of the educational departments, teachers participating in the training program, and the university and vocational guidance chief in the school, Ms. Ghalia Kundakji, who welcomed the guests with a brief speech in which she expressed the school vision and the future aspiration
Then Mr. Desai delivered a speech where he expressed his gratitude for such a family meeting with the apprentices and with the members of Lycee Hanaway School
He stressed the importance of the English Language, good education, and how he applied the program and some methods to teach the language at a high level to help students shape their future and find the proper opportunities
In her speech, Dr. Salman talked about the importance of the program in Lebanon and the MENA Region and how The British Institute is setting and developing highly advanced programs to serve teachers and students alike
During the ceremony, the teachers of English Language received certificates for their participation in the aforementioned program, and two bouquets were presented to the two honorable guests followed by cutting cake in their honor
In the end, the conferees toured the building and were briefed on its various departments and modern equipment
